Cupertino Employment


Cupertino's location within Silicon Valley makes it a city with excellent opportunities for employment in the high tech industries present in the immediate area.

Cupertino exudes the essence of the high tech economy that drives it. Some employers in the area are technology icons, such as Apple Computer and Hewlett-Packard.

Cupertino History


Cupertino, founded during the 1776 expedition led by the Spanish explorer, Captain Juan Bautista de Anza. Starting in Sonora, Mexico, De Anza led a group up the coast of California to establish a presidio (fort) on the San Francisco Bay. The village of Cupertino was originally called West Side, but by 1898, the post office at the Crossroads needed a more distinguishing name for the town. John T. Doyle, a lawyer and historian from San Francisco, had a winery named Cupertino. The West Side Crossroads and the post office were renamed to Cupertino in 1904 and Cupertino became Santa Clara County's 13th City on October 10, 1955.

Cupertino offers a more suburban feeling including mature trees and established neighborhood shopping centers. It is home to more established families who are also mature.
